Panasonic Lumix GX880 Power Question

I was wondering about how to keep the Panasonic Lumix GX880 powered while using it for video set on a tripod for a long time, as it doesn't really make sense to use the battery when using it like this.

Will the USB charger cable keep it powered as I use it or will that over charge the battery?

I couldn't find the manual for it on the Panasonic site and was hoping someone here might be able to answer the question.

It did take a bit of digging around but here......

None too sure about the EG etc variants, as the language choice is listed separately.

If it has a setting in the the menu for USB Power Supply On/Off it can be powered via an external power source.
I think the only cameras that allow this are the GX9, G90 and G9.
Even then they still require a battery with some charge present for it to work

Yeah, according to page 19 in the manual it implies that when the camera is connected to the usb charger; if the camera is off it charges, if the camera is on it stops charging and takes power from the battery.

Thats a shame...

This is not a recommendation, never used one and no idea as to how effective or safe they might be.

Thanks. However I can't seem to find a dummy battery with a UK plug for the Panasonic Lumix GX880...

If it takes a BLH7 battery which I think it does this should do the job
