No
I'm thinking of one of these just for the size/weight advantage. Is there too much of a quality compromise relative to DSLR?

Not if you shoot the GH2 in raw.

A quick idea can be gleaned from this thread, I shot a GH1 against everyone else's Canon & Nikons.

GH2 is marginally worse on IQ (although much improved in other areas) and the G3 is no match, although offers the best JPG processing of any Panasonic.

Thanks for your response. Is there an explanation of why not in RAW. Is it great quality and .jpg is not good?

Yes, and bigger with good glass and ISO100. (And you would need good glass - 18 tiny megapixels crammed onto the smallest DSLR sensor means hard work for lenses).

Biggest thing you'll have tpo decide on is can you live with the EVF? Some can, some can't.

I agree with Alan, RAW is better. Here are two canvases I had made from GF1 files, the panorama is nearly four feet wide, so yes, you can print A3 without any problems.

I gave up a Canon 50D and L glass for Lumix G system and have no regrets whatsoever.

Sounds OK apart from the EVF. How is this problematic. Is the image not clear?

I'll have to go and have a look at one.

They do look good.

There's nothing wrong with it, just DSLR fanboys feel the need to justify spending a lot more money for their gear somehow! It's big, same size as a full frame DSLR, but because it's an lcd screen not a piece of glass it's kind of like watching the world as a computer game. It's great fun walking round just seeing the world through the evf! In certain kinds of dark conditions it gets grainy as hellto view, but we are talking situations where all you'd see through a normal finder is the LEDs anyway!

The EVF is only laggy and noisy at smaller apertures. If you're using a wider aperture these things are not a problem. When using my 25mm f0.95 at wider apertures I don't see any noise and I can see things through the EVF that I can't see by eye. Gotta be good :) and the live histogram is simply wonderful.

OT : That top cityscape is absolutely gorgeous.

I traded my D90, 70-200 2.8 VR etc in for a G3 and a load of M43 lens' and so far I have absolutely no regrets. It goes everywhere with me, which is exactly what I wanted in a camera. In fact I now cycle down to the canal every weekend with my full set up, something I would never dreamed have doing with my Nikon kit.

I was torn between the G3 and GH2 but as I wanted to save as much space as possible the G3 seemed like the best option (plus with the GH2 you're paying a premium for pro video shooting capabilities...which I don't need), the EVF is huge and I've not experienced any issues with noise (although I'm mostly using fast primes), the autofocus is also much better than I was initially led to believe, comparable to any entry level DSLR I've played with.
