Yes
Why so cheap? Everything is only about 10% more expensive than what I'd expect to pay for a secondhand item. At first I thought it must be ex. VAT or ex. import duty but their FAQ states otherwise.

Anyone used them before?

Looks like another HK reseller dressing their site up to make it appear that they are in Europe/UK

I think they sell grey imports, nothing wrong with that really because as you say the prices are close to second hand prices, and It's only the lack of guarantee that people are worried about, but if you buy second hand you get no guarantee anyway,I think they have a phone number give them a ring and ask questions, nothing to loose.

looks like another simply kinda company

I paid for something from them a few years ago, it never turned up and I eventually got my cash back, I spoke to a guy in Catford (SE London) on a mobile and I believe the website used to claim an office in central london at the time.

At the time the website had been registered for under a week, they also had a couple of other similar web shops with different names and shop fronts.

I think I paid through moneybookers and I had to raise a complaint, they can be a pig to claim from.

I would never touch them again, YMMV.

Also there was a thread on here a year or so ago.

Nick.

I've just found this company while looking for a new lens as they offer the sony 70-400G for £907 delivered which is when i found this thread via google when looking to see if they are legitimate.
Their uk office if you can call it that is a terraced house and they appear to be as said above another HK reseller.

Phone numbers and address if any help to anybody.

Interesting to read this thread....

I was looking at a new Sony lens (same as gerrard8) and this is the top post discussing Panaromz...

http://www.photography-forum.org/sh...namoz.com-my-not-so-good-experience-with-them

As you will see Panaromz wrote into the forum....its worth on balance to remember that when buying from companies likes these that Customer services isn't going to be the same, even if the price is great.

You can obvious protect yourself like CC etc etc.....

I decided to take a chance on Panamoz after reading some reviews from trusted members on a few forums and can confirm they're legit. I bought a Fuji X-E1 with 18-55mm lens for £654.55 (cheap!) using direct bank transfer to get an extra discount (I know, I could have been ripped off, but the reviews were from people I trusted). It was delivered promptly with all import duties paid. A couple of weeks later my lens developed a fault and they paid for it to be sent to be serviced and then when I had to drive a 200 mile round trip to visit the service centre because i was disputing what Fuji were saying about the lens, Panamoz also paid for my petrol. They said they'd replace the lens if it turned out to be dead and given the service I received, the prompt and professional communication - I believe them. The lens ended up having new elements and motor put into it and is working as expected now. The camera and lens came with a 2 year Panamoz warrantee so I'm not concerned about what will happen if it develops a fault again. I've only read one bad review on line and even there the bloke got his money back - it just took longer than he wanted.

I'm putting this review out and about in the hope it helps their business so I can keep buying from them in the future!

I've used Panamoz a few times without any hassle and I've seen threads with plenty of other people who have done too.

Ultimately, they're another HK based seller so that comes with its own set of challenges but its up to you to decide whether it's worth it! I paid with a bank transfer for an additional 5% off the prices advertised but I'm not sure if that's available anymore.

I know a while back their prices all went sky high so I wasn't sure whether there was something up with them but they seem back to normal now.

I'm sure there's other threads on here talking about them.

Crikey, a 2 year old thread resurrected.

That's probably due too the other thread getting took over with 90% of discussion going on about Vat and import duty

Shhhh.. Lets hope this one doesn't go the same way...

Why should it not, pay your import duty and Vat, and all is well. Until you need a warranty repair.

Buying from HK without paying import tax and VAT is illegal, there is no discrepency in that.

So when you need a warranty repair then you send it back to the company much in the same way as you do with DigitalRev.

I got my D600 from Panamoz a couple of months ago. It arrived within 3 or 4 days, and came with a 2 year UK warranty.

I really don't care about the legality/morality of paying or not paying tax, I saved about £300 off the UK price.

I'd certainly use them again.

Peoples own views and choices on all Vat, Import duty or anything are clearly there's to have and discuss as it is a forum too do so but why not just make there own thread whatever they wish to discuss as there thread title

Because not everyone buying from these sites are aware that it is THEIR responsibility to ensure duty/VAT is paid. It would be a very expensive lesson to learn!

Thats a good idea, we could have a thread about how cheap Panamoz are, and what a great service they provide, then we could have a separate one about HMRC , surely that's got to keep everyone happy :D

shills law strikes again

I got a D600 completely free - All I had to do was smash this guys car window and steal it

I don't care about the legality/morality of stealing **** from other people because hey I saved about £1400 over the Uk price

I'd certainly do it again as its a great way to get cheap kit

(no, not really - but i'm sure you see the point at hand)

Another thread where people openly boast about breaking the law.

Well done to TP , can we have a thread about where to download pirate movies and software as well?

Indeed, it is getting tiresome now

I agree - the constant bragging about not caring about breaking the law is very tiresome

Perhaps we could propose a truce , how about those who feel that tax evasion is wrong , will no longer mention it in these threads, if those who feel that breaking the law is fine don't brag about having done so ?

Then we can all move on to discussing the actual service provided by these companies (although that may have to include the reporting of actual incidents of customs inspired delay as per Horney's D/R thread, as that kind of thing - and in particular the later handling of it by D/R is directly germane )

+1

I've made that suggestion in the past, and I've always said I have no problem with using HK dealers. If I could use them legally and make enough of a saving to make it worthwhile I probably would. However there just isn't any need to boast and brag about the law breaking part, that is just trying to troll.

If a user wants to break the law, do it quietly, don't be an ass and post "I really don't care about the legality/morality of paying or not paying tax, I saved about £300 off the UK price"

Got any links :D

Well, I've always found that for the new releases I get really quick downloads from www.pirat ...better not :nono:

:D

so, are panamoz any good, reputable etc etc. ?

the whole tax evasion issue aside they are no worse than many other grey dealers - although they did disapear then come back which would make me woory about their stability.

personally if you want to buy grey I would recomend either Hdew or kerso

Yes.

I bought from them recently, they delivered quickly and were cheaper than DigitalRev. Email them for up-to-date prices rather than rely on those quoted on their website.
