ok, well I bought the lens but not from Panamoz. After I posted this and the manager replied to justify his sustainable prices (his post was then removed), Panamoz increased the prices twice for this lens in the same day. I think that suggests these prices were not sustainable after all!! I contacted Panamoz to point out that the managers post and to ask them if they would honour this price which they would not. I have since found the lens marginally cheaper at onestop-digital.com.

Their reviews are great and I received the lens very quickly and am very happy with the purchase.

Draw your own conclusions.
 
Payment on site went through on Moneybookers.com, the receipt which came by email was made out to a Mr Oazua Otalor which Google says is a Nigerian Artist, but we must take that lightly. At no point was this made clear on the site. I have tried phoning which gets put through to a mobile answer service and have tried the live web chat with no answer. I have left my worries with Moneybookers at their Bulgarian customer services who i found very helpfull, they allow five days from the enquiry for merchants to get back to them, we sit and wait. Would i reckomend to a friend? not yet, no.
 
We finally have contact and a Fedex number which shows it has left LANTAU ISLAND, we wait for delivery of the item now ;)
 
Well they not unfounded until the good arrive they could be sending think air via fedex but i doubt it.

Hope it arrive and keep us update
 
Finaly got through on webchat and received a call back today, problems with their systems are sorted and now up and running, regarding logging in and tracking. Received my Fedex number so can track my order and happy in the knowledge it was one of the cheapest in the UK even *** it has come from HK. It arrived in the UK this morning according to Fedex which has taken 5 days since order confirmation and its not a Christmas present but will be here before that.
Its funny who ever ive told the story too have laughed and gone on about web shopping, i am just amazed at our distrust and the quickness of our dissing when in reality its a new company and we should expect some teething troubles especially with software systems. We await its arrival for our final summary.
 
All intact complete with 8gb card and three days early, only bad point is manual is in Arabic but i have downloaded one in Eng, so off we go playing :)
 
And what was it you purchased are menu's in English or are you ordering how to learn arabic in 21 hours

What? The fact that Spex seems to have joined TP two days ago - just to post about his fantastic experiences with a, potentially, dodgy company?

Nah, not at all suspicious. Although there does seem to be a strange, rattish, smell around.
 
My call to Moneybookers seems to have given the company a bit of greif which was unnecessary on my part, but i hope i have sorted that. This post shows if anything how quick we can make assumptions and with the power of the web damage to companies can be far reaching. I havent actually found any bad press about them only suspicion, maybe the company needs to look at redressing this so more people can grab a bargain if there is one available. From my wish list of lenses i havent found it cheaper anywhere other than an even dodgyier looking site. So for me the purchase has been memoriable to say the least and we have ended up with a bargain to boot ;) and given Gary nightmares ;)
 
What exactly was it you bought Spex?

I am with Gary on this I have to say. Looks decidedly dodgy.:shrug:

My joining was to answer Fossy's post with my review, i am that kind of guy, it was possible i could have the review to answer he's question, i hope that i have helped. The fact i have bought a phone with a Koran installed was easy to remove in Pc Suite but wasnt possible on the phone, but all contents where correct and i put this down as the second good buy a customer has left a review for from Panamoz, the other found in Google was for a lens :) There are no bad reviews so far. I now still have a bag of manual Nikon lenses i need to swap over to Auto for my Nikon so i definately will be a future visitor to the site.
 
I have to laugh when i read the Google and Mr Oazua Otalor part, i couldnt wait to tell my son on his return from work, the Mr in question specialises in Bamboo art and if we went to Nigeria the name is probably as common as our Kevin Smith and its most likely he isnt connected with Panamoz. My sons re-action was immediate, "thats that then" and that would apply to nearly everyone i told it too. Our minds can be so easly swayed by the moment. Ordered from this lot, had really poor (non-existant) customer service and contact, I tried phone, email etc.

So....

I raised a fraud query with moneybookers, got some iffy nervous phonecalls from a mobile number and now have my money back in the bank. Then went to jacobs and bought there.

I think this is a small new company trying to make themselves sound impressive which is a shame as a small business, that admits it, with good customer service would get them as much business.

Anyway, take my post and experience as you want but I wouldnt go back.

That alone should tell everyone what they need to know and avoid like the plague and i still believe that "someone" on this thread was something to do with them. more so now because he seems to have gone into hiding and not posted anywhere else, just on this thread.
