This year I have seen many more of these butterflies that the last couple of years or so. So maybe there is some truth in the report.

It is absolutely true that most years we don't see many then there'll be a huge influx as is happening this year. I remember the last time it happened but not which year it was. Always been like that - nothing to do with global warming............:D

I noticed some while out on a walk a few weeks ago and thought it was going to be a good year for them. However, today seems to be 'day of the peacocks' as there's a good dozen of them on the buddleia in my garden. I don't have a macro lens though, so I'll be leaving them to nectar in peace!

Haven't seen any for a while; saw the first this year (and in most years I don't see any) on 28th June in Inverewe Gardens.

I saw and photographed dozens on my walk around Ham Wall in Somerset only yesterday

Have a glance on my flickr.
