I need to repaint a shed with preservative. I used a water based one last time but used a brush and this time I fancied using a sprayer.

I know nothing about them so I'd be grateful for advice and the experience of others.

I saw this one - https://www.homebase.co.uk/ozito-500w-paint-spray-gun_p487576

Has anyone used this one or similar?

Is this too cheap to do a decent job?

Any comments about and using sprayers appreciated.

Thanks

Dave

The only real comment I can make about sprayers is overspray. Lots of complaints on t'web about people who've sprayed their neighbours gardens, plants, cars etc. On a windy day, spray droplets can travel far.

The other thing I will mention is that paints will need adequate thinning for spraying otherwise it'll clog up the gun.

it puts on a thinner coat . far better to paint it on . and as omens said overspray can cause untold problems like your neighbours white car covered in red cedar fence preservative . that dries like concrete on a hot day .

Use a Brush they put paint all over the place. On peoples cars on washing on windows on fences. How many times have you seen anyone spraying a shed/fence v uing a brush.

Overspray is the main proplem. As someone has said do a search on the web.

If your shed is on slabs and you go ahead with the spray gun then I'd mask the slabs or have your hose on the ready to wash overspray away because it stains the hell out of them.

Dont spray, brush. Brushing also "Works" the stuff into the wood giving an even better result.
