Packaging

If you are a retailer, how many different size boxes do you want to stock - or have room for?

Yup! I'm expecting delivery of a camera today, I expect it to come in a suit-case sized box. Great fun for the cats though

Yes, I understand a retailer not wanting to stock all sizes of boxes but most of that packaging is from the manufacturer.
It's a hangup from brick & mortar shops. From a manufacturer's perspective bigger box = easier to see on the shelf amongst the competition & a retailer view is bigger box = harder to steal

Doesn't really work in the age of internet shopping but do you then go into the hassle of having two sets of packaging? I wonder if there is an opportunity there for a box producers to work with manufacturers...

A mate of mine was visiting and asked if he could have something delivered to our address. Couple of days later, a parcel arrives that I assumed was a pair of shoes. That is until I picked it up and it practically floated. Inside was a single RAM module for a Macbook.

I've also just had some bubble wrap delivered that was floating around in a huge box.

MPB only seem to have one box size - tiny Micro 4/3s lens delivered in a box the size of a copier paper box.

It was absolutely crammed with bubble wrap however, you could have dropped that out of a plane and the lens would have survived.

I should be grateful really.
