Yes
I'm with EE at the moment on a rolling 30 day contract and thinking of going to VM on a similar but for a lot less.

anyone any issues?
is the service good?

I use Virgin on my iPhone - when I first went to them I got a 'special ' deal as I have TV and broadband from them.

I've now switched to a SIM only with them - originally it was cheaper for me - now anyone can get it .

For £8 month I have unlimited texts , inclusive 1000 mins calls [ to mobiles OR landlines ] Unlimited Virgin mobile minutes and 500MB of data. Not used any data yet

Never had any problem with them - apart from the fact they left me with no mobile for a week as the kept sending me the wrong SIM and disconnected my old Nokia [ and SIM] before I had my new one.

There doing unlimited calls/text and 4gb data for £15 I am currently paying £24 from EE

I was with T-Mobile ( same thing) and the tariff crept up and up, from £26 - £36
Unlimited everything.
I went into the EE shop and got sim only texts and calls but only 2Gb data, seems I was only using 1.5 max a month anyway,
that costs £15 / month, don't know about VM though, as that was the best deal I could get on the net, and they honoured the price in store.

When i spoke to EE today in all fairness they offered me a good deal but it was on a 12 month contract, was unlim text/calls and 4gb for £16 but i wanted the option of wandering elsewhere so opted for a 30 day rolling contract, i might take up one of the virgin sims on there 30 day rolling and see what the service is.

And of course they don't like that do they? the price goes up accordingly to discourage it ;)

Virgin uses the same network as EE so has the same coverage but doesn't do 4G if that's important. I have a sim only deal from them - £16 for unlimited everything, it seems you can't get this deal any more... Virgin European data passes are about the best value too, if you do a lot of Euro travelling.

Coverage beats the pants of my O2 work phone which is almost as rubbish as Vodafone...

I travel a lot of the country and so far signal has been good where ever I have been, except in a deep quarry in darkest Kent :D

I forgot to mention that bit my EE contract is on 4G

My phone is a NOTE 2 so is only 3G anyway and I am quite happy with that :-)

been with Virgin for years until 3 months ago when I switched to GiffGaff, sole reason being 4G which is not existence on Virgin, GG comparable pricing is better too.

apart from that I have no problem with Virgin, you will get a better deal if you have TV and/or BBand with them.

That seems to have changed recently http://store.virginmedia.com/virgin-media-mobile/sim-only/pay-monthly-sim.html

Click on the " No I don't button "

Well we don't mind - you can now get the same prices on our top tariffs as our TV and Broadband customers

weird thing is if you have unlimited calls then that's kind of surplus?

Would have thought so

According to the App on my iPhone I get 1000 mins inclusive , unlimited Virgin Mobile minutes , 500Mb Mobile web and unlimited texts - for my £8/month

The Site shows I get 1250 mins.

I've still got 776 min left on calls this month [ renews on 28 August ] and I do now use the mobile more than my rather crappy landline as the Mobile streams to my hearing aids.

do virgin do Data SIMS for mifi?

I also have an EE MIFI and that's £20/month for 15gb

Dunno about that - you'd need to ask them

I was on GiffGaff and the wife now is but I just find that the O2 network is total pants and in busy places (Waterloo station, for example) it never works.

Certainly I get far far far more coverage on Virgin/EE than she does on O2 although I don't know if 4G changes that?
