dam Aphotos keeps locking up when editing since High Sieera(might even be since Sierra) so DL the Lightroom trial of Classic,
so I can use their basic editing in the display mode, once the trial has ended. its v good at HL and Shad's and general basic raw development.

AP will open .psd files and let you work. When you wish to save
your work, if you "save" the document, AP will save it a AP file.
To keep it in psd format, just "export" it as such.
