Just read this about frequent callers to the emergency services. The article says, "An NHS spokesman said the calls were often related to mental health, chronic pain and alcohol or drug dependence." and I can understand some people having difficult to manage problems/conditions, but can't there be any other intervention? I realise there is a personal freedom issue and it is difficult to get someone to have treatment if they do not want to cooperate but don't these folks need to be helped in other/better ways which would also free up the service for others.
If my maths is right 3,594 calls in a year is one call about every 2.5 hours, every day. If these are genuine this person(and the others who are calling very frequently) need some serious help.
