Yes
... The Curry Bible....

I think I stand a chance of being banned from using it again :(

My darling lady is paying a bit of a price for the moderate dose of chillies I used this evening..... although the recipes are quite informative, it quoted 6-10 dried red chillies (chopped into 4 pieces if you want it hot). I used 6 and only chopped them in half .... there is no real warning of their potency. :rules:

Move on to Kormas I think...... Lamb Uppakari is as fierce as a fiery Madras..... yummy but as hot as a hot thing.... we even tried a touch of natural yoghurt

madhur jaffries?

my dad has a really old book by that author,, its tained in colour and odour by the various spices that have been spilt on it (on their journey from the spicerack to the grinder) and the pages are all falling out, but byjove the curries are good

yes it is! Barry spent most of the afternoon in the kitchen, not only making us a VERY hot but delicious :coat: lamb curry, and very HOT and SPICY :coat: potatoes and some home make Naan Bread YUMMY!! and I sugested he made some of that yoh gurty stuff to cool me mouth down but he used a bit of his homemade chillie oil in it :coat: ...he also made the creme bit of some creme brulees we are having tomorrow evening when we have visitors...NO CHILLIES!!!! I'm roasting beef and making yorkshire puddings!!

Yep -that's the one! Bloomin' brilliant..... I think if I carry on like this it won't be the pages that fall out..... ;)

As for potatoes and cumin..... great for the Winter!

Just make sure you don't use any of THAT oil......

I love a good curry but not the type that has you gasping for air with nose/eyes etc etc running like a train LOL :D

Hehe we had a turkey curry on Boxing Day, as I'm sure half of the nation did :D It's like a tradition.

I do like a good curry, and its even nicer when its a proper cooked one. Not this takeaway stuff. (Which is nice in its own right, but usually worktop staining, plate staining and artery clogging...lol)

I've never been brave enough to make my own curry though, it does look like a lot of work...sooo many ingredients usually, it's something I'd like to try though one day (maybe when we've settled into the new house I'll take up cooking again).

The nicest Korma I've ever had was at a restaurant in Manchester last year. My friend and I went for our birthdays (theyre in the same week), so we went to the buffet type thing they have...9.99 and all you like.
The korma there was live a smack in the face from the creamiest and freshest coconut you ever did taste, with a subtle hint of spices.....Never tasted anything like it since.
