Not a new hybrid (or even a shot of one of the beasties itself), just a (poor, hence in here rather than photo sharing) shot showing their ingenuity? Having chewed through most of it, did they get their bow-saw out!

Or did the EA make sure it didn't fall on people on the path? ;)

They seem to be making their way downstream, almost down into the part that gets salty - certainly down to the part affected by the tide.

If anyone wants to see the signs, they're on the West bank of the river between Budleigh and Otterton.

We usually go the other way - park in the Lime Kiln car park and walk up to the mill for a bite of lunch before heading back. Missed the blackberries this year, not ripe enough before we went away and all gone when we made it back up the river!

Do you get the F&C from the place opposite the Salterton Arms? Used to make the trek down from Exeter just for the F&C there.

Yes - we park at Lime Kiln, up one side of the river and down the other. Opposite the pub - that's the one. I always have to lurk outside while my partner stands in the queue. The place is so tiny I get claustrophobia just looking in the window............

Mrs Nod's sense of direction is not very good so when she did that, her and her friend carried on down the East side of the river instead of crossing over the road bridge. Only a mile or 2 extra on the walk distance!

I live about 1.5 miles fro the river and seafront at Budleigh, a lovely place to be at any time of the year. I've still not managed (through lack of time more than anything) to see the beavers yet though, maybe i'll get time this next year.
