OSX image editing software

I know about photoshop and Lightroom but I'd quite like a lightweight, hopefully free, editor where I can do simple things like resize etc. Just something that's much quicker and fluid to use than other pieces of software. Can anyone recommend any?

Pixelmator is a good Mac alternative to PS. Not free, but not expensive either.

Also, don't forget Preview and Photos are free with Mac, and Picasa for Mac is a free download.
