I'm quite new to Mac's so I have never upgraded the OS. I will definitely be upgrading but wondered what the best way to do it is.

Can you just download the new one or do I have to get the discs delivered?

Is it worth waiting for a bit until bugs have been fixed or is that just paranoia from an ex windows user?

I am unaware of Apple offering their retail OS for download in the past, so I would expect that you would have to get a physical copy. If there is nothing critical you require from it I would probably wait a bit and see how others get on with it.

Not so much about possible bugs, but about whether users agree with the changes in how the OS feels and works.

I'll be getting it the day after it comes out so will let you know how it is. Tbh, I am going to back up all my data, wipe everything and start afresh rather than upgrade.

You know.... that's not such a bad idea to be honest and I hadn't thought of that. I'll have a think about doing that myself.

*Peter: I'd go for the upgrade from an Apple store and wouldn't really worry about bugs. Apple delayed the release of Leopard for several months to further refine and develop the enhancements, I doubt they'd risk releasing a buggy version.
