I am about to order something from Germany and wanted to know what charges I may be liable for with regards to getting it delivered here

Just the shipping charge

Both Germany and UK are in the EU, so no further duty or VAT

Yup. Not a bean. With the exchange rates as they are I regularly check prices in the EU. They're sometimes way less than the UK even on other EU Amazon sites.

Many thanks for this, you have confirmed what I thought, its never easy to filter the WWW to find the exact info you want

What is the case with the warranty of a lens, be it Sigma, Canon or Tamron if you buy from Germany?

I know that Canon lenses at least have a worldwide warranty that's honoured anywhere it ends up. That qualifies for grey imports too.

I'm assuming EU law would make sure your warranty for other brands would be valid too. The issue of refunds would obviously be a bit trickier but ultimately it would probably only be some extra postage to the original retailer.
