Hey guys,

I've just about got this up but I want some outside opinions on it before I actually launch it and start publicizing it.

Trying to keep it nice and simple but stylish, easy to use, quite appealing to the eye. Mainly going to be used just to send the link to clients as a portfolio.

Cheers buddy. I did question that but I'm not sure it's so relevant? Unless everyone thinks it is..
 
The website looks nice and simple and easy to move around.

If I had one crit it would be that the `baby pictures` although really nice don`t` really fit in with the others.
 
Hey, it is nice and clean, I wouldn't of used frames for it though, you could have achieved the same sideways scrolling in a div element or using javascript for a smoother effect.

Although if it is purely to send as a hard link to clients this might be a none issue, but if you actually want to market it on the web frames are generally a pain in the a**

Looks nice but on safari it shows a scroll bar to scroll through the pics horizontally. Perhaps put a border around the pics in size and add a loop?

I think it looks nice enough - very clean - if perhaps a little indistinct.

My main issue is with the sideways scrolling on a non-touch device - you basically have to use the scroll bar or keys. Would be better if you added slightly more intuitive scrolling (e.g. hovering over the edge of the image will initiate scrolling through images). Easy enough to achieve with javascript and would also allow you to get rid of the frames.
 
Some nice photos there m8, everything seems to run smoothly but my real pet hate on websites is having to scroll sideways, as soon as I come across one I just leave and go elsewhere. I'm using a 23" screen with a res of 1920x1080. I can scroll down using my mousewheel, it won't scroll sideways which is a extra effort.
 
Here you loud and clear guys. Basically get rid of frames. Sort out ease of scrolling.

See if I can get some time in the week to sort this out!

Very clean simple, and brings out the photo's. So a thumbs up from me.
Like the others though I'm not a fan of frames either.

Saying that it didn't stop me from cruising your website.
 
As long as the band(s) is(are) called "Untitled Document" then you've got at least one thing right.

Because that is how it shows up in the 3 browsers I checked it in (Opera, Firefox and IE)

Unfortunately that seems to be the only thing, validation gives 25 errors and 22 warnings, and you also seem to have a mix of XHTML and HTML5 - unusual combo.

As already mentioned the baby pics do not fit in with the rest of the theme and IMO neither does the blog since there are only 2 entries and only one of which has a connection to the photos.

BTW you are on the first page of Google for "daniel mackie photography" along with a great many other sites all of which I presume are previous attempts.

But type in any other combo like daniel mackie or mackie photography (especially) and a large number of sites come up none of them yours.

Which shows the necessity of good SEO.

It's a great pity about the site since the photos look excellent.
