Focus on tip of the nose - Nikon D90 - Spot metering - 85mm (prime) - ISO 100 - f/2.8 - 1/1250

The more I look at this photo the more I like it, with the focus on the the nose tip and the rest of the face slightly out of focus
it seems to draw me into it. I also like the haunting look on her face.

I am by no means a portrait photographer but I do like these kind of portraits and would like to continue trying to capture such moments.

I would be interested to hear your thoughts on this photo and if you have any tips on this kind of portraiture.

For critique, you might want to ask a mod to move it.

As a portrait, to me it just looks OoF. When we look at people we go straight to the eyes, everything else about it is really good, and I see where you're coming from. But I bet if you had the exact same shot with the eyes in focus it'd draw you in even more.

Phil, I realize what you mean about the eye's but there is something about this photo which really grabs me..............
