Hi everyone

For Christmas a few years back I got given a really amazing camera. I went to Zanzibar a few months later and used the camera a lot and got some great shots, however I have barely used it since. I decided to start taking more photos again and as I live in Oxford I feel there are so many fabulous opportunities.
Unfortunately I left my camera at home before returning to university so have asked my family to send it on. Instead I have been taking photos on my iphone. Could I possibly get some constructive criticism on my photos? I know they are very amateur-ish but would really love the improve.

Try picking a small selection (3 to 6 max) and posting the images (not links) in one of the photo sections of the forum. That's a lot easier for people to comment on than an entire Flickr stream.

Welcome to the forum.

Thank you Alistair! Great tip and thanks its good to be here :)

Oops sorry Alastair spelt your name wrong..you have the same name as my dad and he spells it with an i so was automatic! sorry about that

Nae bother, it's been spelt worse before.. ;)

Hi Bryony,

If you have have a stroll around the forum, you'll bump into a number of different 'invite crit' sections, so posting shots there may be a good idea.

Some criticators can be a little, ummm, robust in their deconstruction of your images, but in general they mean well.

Have fun!

NB: My Mrs (Wolfson alum) suggests the walk to Godstow is pretty good for photos

My son is named Alastair too :) Did you know there are 23 different ways to spell the name?

Also I didn't realise your name is Bryony. My daughter is called Briony. What a strange co-incidence.

Hi Bryony,

I had a quick look around your Flikr page. There's some good stuff there, and I especially like the hi contrast Marmite shot. Almost pop art!! Keep at it
