Hi everybody,

I recently had the opportunity to hold and brifly test a Fufifilm XQ2. At the moment of the test I wasn't impressed with the dial ring, I found it fiddly and "cheap". However there seem to be no mention of this problems in the reviews I read online, so I am starting to think it could have been a specific problem of the camera I tried.
Can anyone offer an opinion of the dial ring of the XQ2? How does it compare to, say, the RX100's?

Thanks,

Ugo

Ugo, I can't compare the XQ2 dial ring with the RX100, as I've never tried the latter. I do have a XQ2, and thought assigning the zoom to the ring would be a good idea, as I hate those nasty little nipples in front of the shutter button. However, the gearing was very low and the feel was awful. It's still set up like that, but after that one experiment I've always used the zoom nipple in preference. So, not much of a recommendation from me!

Thanks for the reply.
It comes a little too late for helping me to decide (I've ended up buying the RX100), but it surely helps me not to have any regrets about the XQ2. I really liked the camera but that ring...

Fyi, the RX100's ring works great
