Opening RAW in CS2 (Stupid question #422)

Hi there,

Just taken my first shots in RAW, I downloaded somethign that Vista brought up so i could see the photo's in 'Live Gallery' but i can't open them in CS2.

Any ideas?

I am new to this so may have to go back to basics.

So you have the vista codec for windows.

Now you need the correct raw plug in from adobs for your camera whatever that is.

Be aware not all new cameras will work with CS2.

Check on adobe site otherwise you will need a further convertor.

it does support canons raw format... but not for the new models of camera.

the plugin for those can only work in CS3

Yes you can, for the cameras not supported by CS2 (most of the latest models) you will need to download adobes DNG converter, this will convert them to DNG (a sort of "standard" raw format) CS2 will then open them. Wayne

Fire up CS2 and check for updates. The latest Camera Raw update should sort you out for running on Vista.
