LOL I think so. I've run the 'old' Type-R for 4 years. I really should get something a bit more sensible I suppose, but I have trouble doing 'sensible' when it comes to cars. :shrug:

I can't understand why they didn't. I gather there's a bit of a power struggle going on within Honda at the moment between the real enthusiasts and the bean counters who just want to sell high volume commuter cars.

The S2000 is due to be dropped, the HSC Supercar project is dropped, and I think the NSX is sheeted for dropping as well. :(
 
Well I shall be keeping this one for at least 6 or 7 years. That's sensible (ish) innit? :D

Cool vid! :thumbs: I can't get too excited about bhp figures, I had 240bhp in the S2000 and in the real world it's no quicker than the CTR. They've brought the torque in lower down with the CTR which will probably have more effect on the driving experience than more ponies. I don't really think the CTR needs to be any quicker than it is, and 200bhp going through the front wheels is probably enough. ;)

The jury's still out pending the test drive, but it sounds like they've markedly improved an already great handling car. Tend to agree about the back end, but who cares if it delivers the goods? :D
 
Only the corsa boys will see the back end of it anyway :D

I've had an invite to the dealer launch through the post......should I go and abuse their demo car?

i'm liking that saloon concept R a lot :D

Have you seen the mugen styling stuff for the new civic?

if only they did that mugen dominator on the 3 door CTR, I would buy would right this bloody second, loks absolutly stunning!
 
It does. Get an ins quote Dan, there was a 19 year old paying £3.5K on a Civic Type-R on the CTR board! :eek:
 
hmm, scrap that idea then, will wait until I've finished college, have a full time job and have 5 years NCB, then we'll try again :P

Yes, but they've probably done that with the JDM Civic Type R as well, since it's actually the same engine!

I care! :nuts: I think the looks of the car is quite important for me. I bought the current CTR because I saw it on the car park of my previous company and I thought "Whoa!"... from all angles. I think the new CTR looks great from the front and the side profile is not bad either, but that rear end is just :gag:. So why not go for the JDM CTR as it is practically the same car, with the same engine, same dashboard, but more power, probably comes with nice Recaro's, electric folding mirrors AND a nicer butt. :lol:
 
Well I've been over to Brindley Honda at Cannock this morning for a look at it, and grabbed the keys for a test drive in the red one they have. With Jan in the back and a supervisor in the passenger seat it still flew. Actually the lad who came out with us was a star, I couldn't white knuckle him at all and I definitely tried. :lol:

Seriously impressed with the whole car, ride, steering handling and the level of interior refinement is superb!

Still got it till 13th May, which is the anticipated delivery date, but it's traded in anyway.;)
