Yes
Watched it last night and it's very good.

Starts very simple with some simple scenarios, showing sample shots and how much of a difference decent light gives!

If anyone is stuck with flash, not too sure, and want to relearn from the fundamentals up, then watch it!

Not cheap, but IMO, it's informative enough to warrent the price.

Only watched the first DVD so far, which is the technicalities dvd, how to set up, how to use the flash, what affects the image etc, and the second is following him round a shoot.

But yeh, tis good :D

I didn't actually buy it.. My mate threw it my way if i wanted to watch it whilst he's in HK, so i gave it a watch!

It is very expensive to purchase though...

I have watched the first disk, and it is a bit basic. There is nothing you couldn't learn from reading strobist.com...

I have watched this multiple times and im gona stand up for it and say i find it better than the strobist dvds which i also have.

It follows him on a few shoots showing you how he shoots and if you look at his work he is amazing photographer! His Blog Check it out. I found the strobist dvds very technical but i fell asleep a few times watching these his voice seems to put me into a deep sleep very educational ***. Not like the One light dvd it is fun and modern and delivers great results!

Worth every penny if you ask me!

Im not saying you shouldnt buy the strobist dvds *** there worth there weight in gold!!!!

my 0.02P :D

one light rules and is better than reservoir dogs.

I think one light is a better introduction to flash.Strobist just kinda jumps in with a million flashes from word go.

also strobist just says ISL is bad zack explains how it applies in a useful way, though I must admit I watched strobist a while ago..... rewatch time :D

also just watched the elichrom dvd that was in the box with my lights and goddam is it crap :D

I'm just on the second DVD now.

I'm new to all the strobist stuff and I found it very useful and inspiring.

I'm still going to buy the Strobist DVD's though!

There is no doubt it would be useful for anyone new to off camera flash, but I still think it's a lot of money for what it is. ;)

So the strobist is better for multi flashes then?

I just want to see how i can improve from my basic knowledge to something more indepth with two flashguns.

onelight only has.. erm... one light :)

Would love to watch the Onelight DVD's, watched the Strobist ones and thought they were very good, shame they cost so much though.

Anyone have a set that they want to lend me for a weekend? :)

OneLight is great, really made sense to me and didnt baffle me one bit.
I just wish he would bring out a sequal with more working examples.

Is it just me, or do ALL these flash gurus shoot Nikon? :naughty:

I've just ordered the Stobist Seminar DVD's but only after watching DVD1 of the One Light Workshop again and hammered home the inverse square law, or at least the real world applications of it (shooting groups, background distance etc.)

Arias shoots both Nikon and Canon, the Nikon flash system is far superior to Canon's offering which may tip the balance for some...

lmao Jason - I been looking and so far I haven't found anything so funky as an AlienBee. My current plan is a normal head and server UPS in a bag do a search on here for the thread

I have mostly watched the 1st dvd so far apart from him repeating himself alot Its not that bad.

Might need to skim over it again to get everthing, onto disc 2 tonight :).

The alienBee does look pretty funky.
