Hi Everyone

I have Just become unemployed but hopefully not for long. I would like to change career and go into photography, I know the basics but would really like to learn portrait photography by someone with knowledge and patience.

There are many learning styles but i seem to learn far better when shown by someone rather than read or watch videos. So what i am asking, is there anyone out there who could spare some time to show me the correct methods and so forth on setting lighting up and helping me gain the skills I need. I do have equipment and a camera I just need someone to guide me. I live in Walsall West-midlands but I can travel.

Regards Pete

Hi Peter,

if you contact Tiptop Photography in central Birmingham ( 0121 448 3732 ) they have regular lighting courses and Steve Underhill will be able to show you how to use them and take portraits. If you want to go professional, then get a professional to show you how.

I have now read reviews on Tiptop photography mostly good ones ...The first one i read was a bad one and I made a judgment on the company based on that review....now i have read the good ones I feel I might use them. I apologise for my first comments and as you can see have removed them.

If there is anyone out there who would learn me on a one to one I would pay them. But to be honest i have not got funds were companies want 185.00 plus per day for a workshop in a group of 10-20 people I just needc someone who has a little spare time and knowledge who could guide me on what to do correctly

If it's any help, there are still a couple of places on the next Lencarta lighting workshop, on the 28th. Not one 2 one, which would cost a lot more, but you'll find it useful.
One 2 one (with me at any rate) would be out of your budget.
