Im doing a job tomorrow that is going to find me on a high level at canary wharf. I want to take some decent shots at dusk/night time. The trouble is I cant really take alot of gear with me, the tripod is going to be the hardest part to sneak on (must get a more compact one). What are peoples suggestions regarding exposure times etc for the type of light Im going to encounter, I dont want to over expose and have white everywhere but I do want the detail of the buildings to come out. Im using a D200 and going to take my 17-50mm (f4/5.6). I wont be going back for a good month or so, so Id like to make the most of this opportunity. Any suggestions??? :)

A bean bag in place of the tripod?

Why sneak around?? Take some kit with you and tell security that your an amateur tog and you could not miss an photo op like the one your gonna get. Betting they would not mind a copy of a decent shot as a 'bribe'
