Im looking for a low cost way of powering my elite pro 300 on location. I can't afford a dedicated kit yet and wondered if there was a low cost battery option?

The Innovatrix Explorer will do the job, although I wouldn't exactly describe it as low cost:(

I hope this link works for you, I can't get it to open

Thanx Gary, at that price it's probably worth saving a bit more for the safari kit

Unless you've got a cupboard full of old manual flash guns doing nothing then location lighting can never really be called cheap ;)

I hire Profoto gear when I need it... MUCH cheaper than buying gear I only need once or twice a month.

Apparently some new 'tronix packs will be launched at Photokina.

Anybody's guess if they will work with Lencartas though. The more trickery they put in lights the less likely thy are to work.

Don't forget to shield the vents. You really don't want rain going into them.

The current models work with all Lencarta flash heads, I would be very surprised if the new models won't.

That's good news. I know the early ones had problems with some of the fancier digitally controlled lights.

Sounds like they have fixed it. Maybe you could have a chat about their adding Lencarta to the approved list.
