I think I mentioned taking a slight punt on an OM3 with three lenses from Canada? Well, I picked up the first film today. Mostly if not all 50mm 1.8 lens, Agfa Vista. I'm very satisfied with the results. I've got another film to get dev'd and another one in the camera using the Siggy 135mm lens and the Zuiko 28mm lens.

I was prepared to have to send this off for CLA but I'll await the next 2 films.

It's a nice camera to use.

Here you go.

I think this is one of the best photos I've ever taken. I was hanging over a hedge to get the one bloom: I knew the full image wouldn't have a lot to offer so I was banking on the crop.

I need to print this and give the lady who owns the rose this image:

OM3? Nice, I bought an OM4 brand new back in the day now I keep looking at OM3's and thinking "Should I buy one?"

They are great cameras the meteron them is just brillent and I reckon if you get to grips with it and the multi spot metering, it is as good as anything on the market today.

the shots look great!

I keep browsing OM cameras on ebay and get tempted.

the shallow depth of field is very nice, especially in shot number 5.

really good its shots like these that have brought me back to film.
the whole uncertainty of it all is great.

I like the barge/greenhouse.

You lucky, lucky sod!

Aye, lucky to know lovely people like you:lol: Should I remember you in my will? :naughty:

The rose shot is very good.

Thank you. What I meant to say was that I had the crop in mind when I took the shot. I am pleasantly surprised by the 3D-ality of it.

Still got the OM4? A low mileage one-careful owner OM4 is to be treasured. I can't help the fact that there aren't that many OM3's about which is reflected in the price.

And that's the 50mm 1,8 lens, not the 1.4!

EBay's full of OM1, OM2, OM2 Spot and OM4 bodies. Often there's a better deal to be had buying someone's whole kit and selling on the unwanted lenses and bits. There is no need to buy a risky/dodgy old thing, I'd advise resisting a punt that the "it won't fire" listing is simply in need of the reset button and a new battery: you probably won't get it cheap online (though you might in the charity shops) and I'm not sure that many OM owners don't know about the quick fix. There are plenty of good condition bodies out there.
Replacement batteries are available for all.
Scuttlebut has it to avoid the lesser, non-System bodies with OMnn numbering but I have no first hand knowledge.

If I could only have one? Well now it would be the OM3 but I've used the OM2 Spot most and is the one I tend to reach for the most often.

Have a nose round here for knowledge:

That ain't no barge - that's a floatin' restaurant!

Gorgeous shots! :) I'm currently enamoured with an OM-10. I keep looking at the pro-level OMs on eBay, for the improved build quality, I guess, but not finding much reason to make the jump. I like the aperture-priority mode, it saves a lot of fiddling...
