I have decided to bring my old OM10 back go life and have film moment away from Digital.
Nostalgia, reliving old times and want a play.

Have two problems;

1. I removed the batteries years ago and failed to note the battery type, two if I remember.....but what type other than button?
2. The light seals have tacked up, where can I get replacements or what can I use to do the job?

I would love to get using this and the selection of OLY lenses that I have kept for such a moment.

Thanks in advance of your help.

Alan

Thanks, thought the battery size may fit, have some pound land cheapies, off to see if it runs up?
Cross fingers :-)

Jon Goodman will sort you out with some seals JGood21967@aol.com he's based in the States but his kits are excellent and good value, his service is second to none and he's a member on here (although he doesn't appear that often) and if you have any problems he'll help you out, a thoroughly decent bloke.

Thanks for that.
The Poundland AG13's are fitted and hurrah it all works.

Now just the light seals, seen some on the bay but from the US.

Thanks Nick for the steer I will contact him.

Dunno if it's true but some people say the OMs prefer silver oxide...anyway I believed them and paid a bit more for SO for my OM2.

I stick with silver oxide for my OM but I know it works. TBH for the first few months it'll be unnoticeable but the meter gets pretty bad when the alkaline batteries start to go.

Shhh, don't tell my OM2n because I fitted two basic LR44's the other day and it's metering happily ;0). I believe silver oxides have a more gradual falloff whereas LR44s drop quite suddenly. Other than that they will work fine.

Agreed with the above. Your local Poundland does the batteries, and seconded Jon Goodman who has provided me with kits for my OM10, Minolta X-300 and Olympus Trip 35...

Poundland batteries fitted and working fine.
Have ordered the seals from Jon Goodman, await arrival and the fun? of fitting the seals.
Then its film in, OM10 and me out to play.

You can get LCD TV cleaning kits in Poundland that come with a small bottle of isopropyl alcohol. Some may be handy for getting the remains of the old seals off. I have done around half a dozen of my cameras with his kits. It's quite easy to do.

Just noticed that you have already ordered the seal kit, but I got a kit for my OM-1n from Germany - fitted perfectly and quick delivery.
