Olympus5050 camera

I've got an earlier model, the C3000, which I've kept because I have the underwater housing for it, so I took it with me when scuba diving. Still capable of reasonable pictures, it's worth next to nothing now so I'll continue to keep mine. The C3000 only accepts Smartmedia cards, the C5050 takes either Smartmedia or Compact Flash cards. There is a lot of useful information about these cameras and Olympus in general at the following site:

It's big, clunky and slow by current standards, but the IQ is still very good for a small sensor camera, I've still got mine which cost a small fortune way back when and was what I learnt photography with! Harvey is incorrect with memory cards though, none of the C series take Compact Flash cards, they were all Smart Media, the 5050 also uses XD cards in a dual slot setup of 1XD, 1 SM.

That's weird. If you've got one then we would obviously expect you to know what it does. On the other hand, that means we have to wonder what camera the people from DP Review were handling, describing, and photographing:

Well look at that you're right, I never used a CF card in iit - I wouldn't have sold my CF cards from my Fuji S3 had I realised! Prior to the 5050 I had the 4000 and 4040 (which I only had a week before dropping fatally damaging the lens)

Here's mine under some dust, and a comparison with a Fuji X-T1 to show how chunky it is!
