Just heard from someone who’s camera has been held up due to current circumstances .and his camera is now repaired and back with him .. time to get any issues sorted .. and a pat on the back for OMD solutions the new owners for getting things moving again

That is good news and might increase confidence for any potential buyers along with existing owners.
Slightly concerning that so many Olympus owners appear to avail themselves of the repair facility.
Falling off grips seem to be the main problem along with non functioning command dials.
I'd be interested to see the incidences of failure against other camera manufacturers as a percentage of ownership.

The main problem is the grip rubbers on the 1-mkii which absorb oils from the skin then stretch and loosen .. mine still has 4 years of a 66 month warranty to run ,so no need to panic ... the normal turn round time is less than a week so not really a problem till Brexit/ covid/ new owners all hit at the same time .
As a aside I have not heard of any problems with other models .. command dial problems were on the mk1 models which are now reaching the end of there life’s .. .
And to be fair Nikon’s still suffer the same problems I have put new rubber grips on at least 3 Nikon cameras in the past .

As a side effect I don’t mind my camera going back to the repair facility as the clean the sensor and check it all over as part of the service
