Hi All,
Being an Oldie (Looking forward to Retirement) and a Newbie (Looking to take up Digital Photography) as a hobby for the first time. I have decided to jump in the deep end having read a few article on digital cameras and decided to go for the Nikon 7100. Having perused your sight I feel I will learn a lot here and am not shy to ask questions and hopefully I hope to get the hang of the basics and then improve as I learn much more as I go.
I am currently looking at the best place to buy my first dSLR, and seeking a good local camera club (High Wycombe, Bucks) area. I am interested in Wild Life, Nature, Bird and Landscape photography, so I am sure this will fill up a lot my retirement hours.
Kind Regards

Welcome. I used to visit High Wycombe regularly in the 1990s. My band played at the Technical College - probably not called that now and possibly wasn't then!

Steve.

Hi, Joe. A lot of changes here since 1990's, The Technical College has gone, Bucks University has been built opposite the Fire Station at the bottom of Amersham Hill. What was/is the name of your Band then/now, Do you still play etc.
Regards

It's Steve... I don't know why they have put Joe there. I have asked a few times!

The band I played with at the time was some sort of high speed jazz/blues/skiffle band called The Chuff Train Stompers. We played in the student union bar most of the time but supported Wilko Johnson in the main hall once. I now play regularly in a rockabilly band called The Lonesome Valley Boys (the word boys is used figuratively and imaginatively and does not imply any actual youthfulness!).

Hi Mandy,
Thank you for your warm welcome, I am slowly getting through the different topics on the site, and I am finding it all very interesting and helpful, but also finding a lot of it is over my head at the moment....problems of being a newbie I suppose..Still I am having fun and can't wait till end of the month when I hope to be getting my first dSLR

Hi Steve,
Thanks for reply, You will have to let me have a list of some future gigs we like Country very much. Been to the Silk Cut Festival at Wembley a few time and enjoyed all of them, but have not been to any gigs for quite a while owing to work commitments.
