Hi all,

I am looking for recommendations on older AF zoom lenses for Nikon. I have a DX body (not wanting to be too personal) and I am interested in either a 70-200 kind of range (35mm equiv) or more importantly a 24-70 or so. I could get a kit lens like the 18-55 but thought there might be something of similar price but better. It can also be third party. Thanks!

What sort of budget are you looking at for the 70-200? For the price of the 18-55mm you're not going to get much better, if you want better then you'd need to look at something like the Sigma/Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 (25.5-75mm equivalent). Used you can pick them up for around £170. For the 70-200mm are you wanting 70-200mm which would make it 105-300mm equivalent on your camera, or are you wanting a lens than would give you 70-200mm after taking into consideration the crop factor? There isn't really anything that would give you 70-200mm after crop factor, the closest would probably be the 55-200mm which would give you 82.5-300mm
