My father was in the merchant navy in the 60's and has a dozen boxes of slides that i'd like to try and convert to view on a pc

I'm wondering if theres anything out there that can do it at home?

Any recommendations would be a great help

You could get yourself an Epson v500 printer that would do it, there was one in the for sale ection going cheep.

Where you located ?

I did this for friend a couple of years ago with a dedicated slide scanner, took a whole to do though,.
Where abouts are you, I no longer use the scanner but it's a bit heavy to post, if you're not to far away you are welcome to it

Dedicated slide copiers are a bit pricey for a one off job - http://www.srb-griturn.com/slide-copying-308-c.asp and need a decent camera and light source to work well.

I have the Epson V600, slightly upgraded version of the 500 mentioned above and it does a great job with slides.

I have a digital scanner you can put 4 slides in at a time.

It's a canon something or other.
