old school lenses

Took delivery today of a lovely old Nikkor 135mm F/2.8 AI - been playing with it throughout the day and it's great fun. Pretty sharp at F/2.8, with a great focusing // aperture ring and a nifty buit in extendable hood. It's also very compact!
Of course, what I really want is a Nikkor AF 135mm F/2 DC - they are lovely, but it'll be a while till I can afford one of my own!

So I was just wondering, what golden oldies do people here still use?

Having played with the AI 50mm F/1.2 & the AI-S 24mm F/2.8 I want both of those, too!
 
see, you mess with good glass, you want good glass :cuckoo: there's no stopping some people...oh alright then, show us your (typically excellent! :D ) results with your new baby then...

in the face of all this security rubbish (and baggage handler thieves), I was pondering taking my chinon ce-4 out to italy next week...or the olympus om1...now thats old skool :)

As for taking out one of the oldies, you know you want to!

LCE have a 135mm F2.5 AIS in at the moment. It's supposed to be the dogs danglies and its only 69 notes!

I was gonna take a trip over but it doesn't even meter on the d70!
 
Hrrrmmm.... But how much is it worth it over my 135mm F/1.8 AI :thinking:

It's really easy to meter with the D70 & manual lenses. I have no doubt that you'd pick it up in no time.
 
Love to mess about with vintage Nikkors, I have several, my favourite being a Nikkor 135mm f2 A1S which I use on my Kodak DCS620 and get great result.

Sharp even wide open and great bokeh a lens that now in AF would cost a fortune, I picked mine up for 89 pounds. Great value and it even meters with the camera.

Surely no more difficult than on any other camera? One thought - the old AI lenses - if they're that good, then they'd be great for dedicated studio/flash photography, wouldn't they?
