I have been messing about on Photoshop Elements 2018 trying to recreate a similar look to old railway posters like the one below.
Not done that well as yet and wondered if anyone else had tried it or could give some advice what was needed.
Most success so far was with posterize and palette knife, but it wasn't that good..

Thank you

That style is very attractive, isn't it? We have a collection of miniature versions of such posters.

I've not done it myself but Adobe has a page on a similar subject: https://www.adobe.com/uk/creativecloud/photography/discover/posterize-photo.html
Thank you Andrew and yes its a great look, always try to get a calendar of those old posters.
Also got a fair few fridge magnets in that style of places we have visited over the years.

The art deco style of old London Underground posters is also very pleasing, enjoy flicking through them at the LT museum.

Ok so not landscape, but this might point you in the right direction (although its a pinup). Interesting use of filters etc. But gives that painted look.

TBH, I reckon you've done very well at emulating the look.

THIS is what I found with a cursory image Google and yours compares very well with it IMO.

It is posterising and I used to use this technique about 15+ years ago but it went out of fashion.

I made one for POTY13, don't think it got many votes:

Wilkinson homage poster_Adj Poster.jpg

It was taken on a Pentax ME, probably with the SMC Pentax-M 50/1.7 lens, on Portra 160. The processing was done first on Aperture (of Sainted memory!), then an old version of Elements, mostly using the posterize capability. But I had no idea what I was doing; someone suggested an approach and I just fiddled about until I got something like what I wanted!

EDIT to add: Wilkinson did actually do one of Kenilworth Castle. He painted his from further round to the left on what is currently private ground, and with a power line going across the middle. The right hand text box is the start of his text...

One way to do it is to find a LUT effect which has the 'period travel poster' look.

Basically someone else has explored the post-processing adjustments for you already and it (the LUT) can be applied with one click. The adjustment palettes loaded can then be modified by you to suit your taste.

If you don't already know, LUTs are available for ON1 RAW 2022, Luminar AI, and I think probably Affinity. Affinity Designer is a very powerful illustration app but I haven't used its LUT options yet.

I gave up using Photoshop a while ago and so can't help with that option but as a railway photographer I am quite interested in creating that style too. So I'll try and remember to post here if I have any joy. [That is if you can actually see my posts because I know you don't like me and may still have me on Ignore!]
