old photo possible improvements

i have a very nearly 30 year old photo here that has picked up some nasty marks here and there, so i'm wondering if there is anyone who may possibly be able to remove these and generally improve the quality....as can be seen there are marks on and around the ladies face and also on the chaps glasses etc....it would also be good if this pic could be enlarged to maybe be used as a screensaver...

Not too much to work with... 420 x 280 pixels when cropped of the large border! A larger file or higher res scan would help.

I upscaled the image to more usable 1000 odd px on the long side.

and then touched up around the glasses and ladies face using clone tool / heal tool - followied by a bit of Noise reduction.

All done quite simply using GIMP, free to download.

I always add some contrast to old photo's to bring back some clarity and a bit of colour.
