old fuji bridge 2000hd Versus mobile phone iphone

iv been very happy with my fuji but i cannot better it with my i phone 9 ,is that to be expected?. my fuji is 2003 im only taking photos outdoors of static artwork. What im getting at should i be getting similar results clarity wise /colour wise

The Fuji 200hd is. Pretty ancient digital camera wise. With equally old sensor technology and processor. So it is pretty poor noise wise at higher iso settings.
As far as I know the iPhone nine never existed..

As above there was no iPhone 9 (it went from the iPhone 8 to the iPhone X/10) also the Fuji 2000HD was released in 2009 not 2003, the S7000 and S5000 were their bridge models in 2003.

The answer depends on a lot of factors, exactly which iPhone and Fuji it is plus what sort of shots they're being used for. I'd expect a modern camera phone to be better than an old Fuji bridge camera, assuming it is the 2000hd this uses a small 1/2.3in sensor (similar size to mobile phones) and was not rated for image quality in its day. It did use a CCD sensor rather than CMOS (which most cameras use now) however some people do still prefer the colour and look of CCD sensors.

However if you prefer the look of the Fuji camera then what is technically 'better' is irrelevant because ultimately it's what you prefer.

my mistake! i thought my iphone was/is a 9 but its likely an 8 and my mistake about the date of my fuji 2000hd too! . Thats interesting that you [johnMcL7] say that some folk prefer the look/colour of this fuji sensor .Would you say its the richness of the colours? My iphone doesnt have the same colour richness that the fuji has especially the blue shades ,in my eyes anyway the iphone i have has never taken a pic that i can say has any richness to the colours. Thanks for the info! my fuji has a makeshift metal /glove finger handle as im left handed i couldnt work the thing as it came and a lashed up spirit level which means i dont have to look into the viewfinder /screen but still get the horizon level on each shot . The main downside to this fuji is folk can get very aggy if i pull this out near them ,not as bad as if i had a big slr and long lens but still its a camera ,whereas a mobile phone nobody cares
