i've been given 3 old cameras a Praktica MTL5 ,Mamiya Sekor 500 dtl with a Mamiya Sekor 50mm and a polaroid Super Colour Swinger. i've decide i'm going to have a go with the Praktica MTL5 because i've got a battery for it and the Mamiya Sekor 50mm.now i know nothing about 35mm film photography.so which film should i use and i'd be grateful for some pointers.
god knows what i'm going to do with the other 2:thinking:

for the MTL5, get yourself down to your local poundshop and buy a roll of whatever 35mm film they are selling, load it up and shoot away. This film should be capable of getting processed at pretty much anywhere - some of the supermarkets are still doing it, failing that, anywhere on the highstreet should be able to do you a process and scan to CD deal. That way you've got your pictures in the same format as you would with your digital slr :)

At a first google, the Mamiya actually sounds quite a nice old camera, but I'm guessing the polaroid Super Colour Swinger is probably a paperweight - doubt if you'll be able to get film for it tbh.

i used to have one of those mamiya 500DTL with the 50mm lens, its a good solid SLR, regret selling mine. i would go with the mamiya because its a nice solid camera, nigh on impossible to break and the lens is nice as well
