old argument - RAW versus JPG

Just think..... 30+ years ago Nikon produced a motor-drive with a special magazine/cassette..... that gave 750 x 35mm exposures....

We've come a long way..... 2000 shots for a parade? To think I used to use 4 rolls of 120 (6 x 6) and 2 x 35mm for a wedding.....

It's just the digital effect, you know it will cost you nothing to take another shot, and people tend to shoot just in case.

I can see both sides as well really. For shooting birds I want to have as much control over the image as possible, and while I always try to get everything right in camera it isn't always easy. Often I will get 2-3 seconds in which to take a shot and then the chance is gone (aka, blue tit has heard me and flown away!).

And to put something else into the mix, if you shoot RAW, you have the option of HDR for every shot you take...

As Arkady says, if it's worth one shot, it's worth six! (paraphrased)
