Well here we go then. Had a go with the 85 f1.8 tonight, took loads of shots that were set up and ended up with this fun shot.....

Upside down Jessica!!

Not intended but fun none the less - the rest will go in the bin because none of my set ideas worked :bang:

Anyways what ya think?

Nick

oh boy....That is seriously a cracker.....

Love the fun in the eyes.....

Great capture and all the better that it's not "set up".

Thanks for the comments folks

Well framed, and a great expression!

Ian.

Great pose and timing, but her skin looks an odd colour (could be my work monitor as it's certainly not calibrated) she seems a little too blue/grey.

Thanks Nicky, will have a look tonight when I get home. I don't rememeber it being odd but it was late last night!!

Didn't think I was going to make my 2 in a week for a while as been on call and quite busy. Anyway now off call and enjoying it..........

Like both of those. Upside down girl is the best of the two

Thanks Suz - it seems that the first image tends to lead to the second image disapearing

1st shot is great but a bit tight on the crop.

Not so sure on No2

Thanks for looking.

I would have been in the hedge to get a fuller shot on the first - joys of 85mm over 50mm

As for the second one I guess it is down to personal taste

Nick

love he natural pose in the first one and the PoV/dof in the second...two good shots.

I like upside down Jessica, well captured. And the beer shot, hey we got to have one :) Surely the beer shot is not with the 85mm as well is it? I'm used to seeing the dof creamy smooth on that one, it seems a bit rough which is surprising.

Thanks - no the beer was shot with the 50mm f1.4 shot at f1.8.

Great choice of beer Nick!

Thanks Dave - my head was not too sure this morning though :gag: . Seems that 7 days on call knackers your drinking habit.

Great dof on #2

the 50mm shots are great. Very well composed.. like what you've done there

Great texture in those last two.

Thanks for the comments folks. The last two were taken at Orford Ness and I had great fun trying to capture the decay and feeling of the place - I think I managed it judging by yoiur comments

Thanks guys - went to the park as a friend has asked for some shots of her two kids and decided to take Jess with me to try some ideas out. My only issue with the tree one is the sky behind as the light just went and took all the nice colours with it :bang:

Nick

Both good shots, I too like the framing in the tree but if I was being picky, No1 could do with more flash and No2 has too much flash. :)

Thanks for that Jim - still getting my head around fill flash :bang:

Anyways - not had a chance to get out recently due to family issues so as a kind of cheat here are a couple I prepared earlier.......

Taken in St Edmundsbury Cathedral a few months ago and two of my fave shots.
