I have done my best and they are for a city and guilds level 1 exhibition (so basic entry level stuff), I know some people dont like this but I do, I am going to do 3 pairs, 2 butterflies, one bnw background and one full colour, reptiles and mammals.

These are the before and after photos for my first 3, any comments, advice or criticism extremely welcome, whether they are good or bad, thanks (I have posted the butterfly one before but I am coming to the end of project now and so these are my final selections). Id like some advice on sharpening that foot!

Any opinions on how they work as a set of 3 would be really appreciated as well. Thanks Sam

I quite like them, only thing I picked up on quickly (I'm dying of flu) was you missed a few little bits on the tree in the last pic, and if I'm honest the last pic is the weakest for me because the texture on them both is too similar and theres no real colour (I know elephants arn't the most colourful creatures) also the eye could use a sparkle.
Just my 2p woth, doesn't make me right.

Thanks, I'm not sure about the elephant as the third - I may save him for the other half But I will work on the missed bits on tree for now. I do have a beautiful one of a Robin I think would work well - argh decisions

They look good but I don't really feel the first and last have obvious colour selection as the before and after are very close in colour, just much sharper in the case of the elephant.

The butterflies - are they before and after as in "before any processing" or "before colour popping"? If the latter I might try and bring the colour out a bit maybe:

Thanks - the before is pretty much as shot, the after is once I black and whites the background and played with settings etc - only the after shot will be used - but you are both right the elephant is no good he is too grey, I'll have to select something else.
