Tomorrow, for seven whole days :)

It's my little lass's first foreign holiday. She's dead excited.

Hopefully there will be plenty for me to shoot while i'm out there. Or I might just lay on my ass by the pool, beer in hand.. decisions, decisions.. :woot:
 
How old is she?, take plenty of stuff to keep her occupied on the plane. ;)

I like Gran Canaria.

Make sure you try the Honey Rum if you haven't had it before, its delicious and very cheap to buy.

I've just finished a bottle my aunt brought me back from Lanzarote. You can only buy it in the Canaries............. I've tried over here :'(

She's 5, just. Yeah, i'll be taking plenty to keep her occupied on the plane. I just hope she likes it.

We are going to Las Palmas. Looks like there is plenty of historical stuff to keep me occupied.
 
Las Palmas wasn't really part of the holiday desitinations when I went, everyone went to the south of the island. My cousin was living there so I was visiting her.

It is quite built up but the seafront is a really lovely walk. If memory serves me right there is a shopping centre at the north end and a large department store in the city centre. I hate shopping but was left to my own devices whilst she was at work and in November the weather was a bit mixed.

There is also a reef just off the beach, my cousin was into snorkelling and later took up diving and she took some lovely photos of the fish.

The old town is also very nice, a bit more traditional.

It will probably have changed an awful lot since I was there though, it was a good 7-8 years ago.

I believe that the north is cooler. I read on one website that there can be a ten degree difference between north and south.

I shan't complain thought, my sister paid for it :)

It is a bit cooler in the North. I can remember everyone else on the plane being exceptionally brown and me being still very pale. I'm rather pale anyway though so wear quite high factor sun cream. It takes me ages to get a tan.

It doesn't take long by bus to get down to Las Americas we went down a couple of times while I was there, the bus isn't expensive either. You have to fight for your space on the beach down there though unlike Las Palmas where you can pick your spot which is much more prefarable.

I did prefer Las Palmas to the south end. Its very much the typical holiday resort down there, all concrete and bars selling english food.

A friend and i sat up until 5 o'clock one morning drinking Honey Rum. Well i say a sat up, it was more of a slouch. It was probably the loss of the use in both legs that stopped us going to bed earlier.

Been years since i've been to that part of the world. About 8 years ago i went to lanzorote and loved it. Cant remember gran canaria as i was somewhat smaller and therefore unable to remember anything from when i was 2 or 3 years old :bonk: :p
