I recently bought a cheap Jessops 360AFD flash for my Canon 450D.

I would like to buy a cord to run the flash off-camera.

I assume that as long as I buy a cord that says it is compatible with Canon 430ex or 580ex I will be able to use it with my 360AFD?

Was thinking about getting a Lastolite cord but their website only lists that they are compatible with 430ex or 580ex's.

Seems crazy to me to spend as much on a cord as I spent on the flash! :)

Thanks

I have also had problems sorting best system for camera/flash off camera. Extension cords seem to short to be useful. You could look at those sold by FITP on this site. Think better setup is wireless flash trigger. I have ordered cheap version from BV electronics via amazon. If this is successful maybe go overboard on more costly ones. FITP also has these on his list.
Hope this helps

Hi - I bought a Canon lead off Graham (Flash) and can say it is fine and a fraction of the price of the Canon version.

Thanks for the replies guys. I was really just wanting to confirm that any 430ex/580ex cords would work with the 360AFD flash.

I take it that it would be the same situation with a wireless setup?

Eg if my 360AFD is compatible with my 450D, then a wireless setup that is compatible with a 430ex/580ex would also be comptible with my 360AFD.
Thanks

The only way it will work wirelessly is in slave mode or on a set of wireless triggers, in both cases it would be manual only.
