Hi all,

I am considering buying a flash for my 600D which I would also like to use off camera but am a bit confused about what is needed.

I believe my camera uses it's own in-built flash as a wireless transmitter? If that is the case and I bought a Yongnuo flash such as this one

http://www.amazon.co.uk/YONGNUO-YN568EX-High-Speed-Speedlite-Camera/dp/B00A2JTL86

Would I need anything else to make it work off camera bearing in mind that I may add another at a later date.

Short answer: it'll work.

Long answer: it uses a 'near IR system for comms, it's ok indoors and over fairly short distances with line of sight. But outside in daylight over medium distances, or with the flash in line with the camera, it'll fail. For that to work, you'll need radio wireless. The cheapest solution is a YN622C-TX on camera and a YN622C on the flashgun
