I've posted here before about the mutiple cancelled appointment from Eon Next to install a smart meter.

Eventually they came and installed it, and have to say it was done very quickly. There was a bit of a problem with them charging the same for day and night time electricity but a few phone calls from Mrs T and that was sorted.

We've noticed that the display in the house is showing the wrong tariffs. During the day it says we are being charged at the night rate and during the period when we should get cheaper electricity it shows we are being charged at the day rate.

Unfortunately, these wrong tariffs are used by the internal display to show us how much the electricity we used is costing us, so it is a bit annoying that the display which is supposed to allow you to see how much you are spending on electricity is giving incorrect figures.

However, this is only on the inside display because checking the kWh of electricity used at the two rates on the meter outside and the statements we get from Eon Next it is clear we are being charged at the correct rates for the day and night.

Anyone else had a similar problem?

Had mine done just last week (Eon, 2nd appointment) and like you it took a few days to settle down. I do remember reading that when you go onto an EV tarrif you are likely to lose functionality of the in house monitor. The app is more accurate but is a couple of days behind for me.

Thanks, Hugh. Our meter has been in a few weeks now and all appears to be working well, except that the in house monitor shows the wrong tariff. As all else is correct, so far, its not a problem, just a slight annoyance that we can't look at the display and know how much we have spent on electricity each day.

Cheers

Dave
