Yes
apparently, i'm obsessed with taking photos.
invited to a friends 21st birthday party recently.
i used to work with him, and still work with his mum.
anyway, arrive at the party carrying a camera bag.
his mum asks my wife
."why has he brought a camera?"
"because he's obsessed" replies my wife.
a couple of days later, i gave my workfriend her sons birthday pics on a cd.
"i'm glad your obsessed mark, theyre lovely photos."

are you obsessed.?
i didnt think i was.

i never take the camera out unless i am going somewhere to take photos

It goes everywhere with me! My Mrs thinks I'm mad :(

" Not that bloody camera again - we're in Tescos for gods sake"

I used to be, but since I started offering my services for a price, I tend to leave it at home unless I'm doing a shoot. Sad really. :( I still enjoy it, just not as crazy about it as I once was.

However, when I do go somewhere, I wish I had taken it. "That would be a great shot, wish I had my camera." I say that WAY too much.

I've always carried my pocket camera with me more or less wherever I go. Even when I visit my neighbour across the road. I've taken a few pictures there over the years and had no complaints though. Most were of their dog. Last month he died unexpectedly and they were devastated. After they had told me this, the next thing they asked was have I got any pictures of him. Of course I have I told them. They then told me that all the pictures they'd had of him were on the pc and no longer there, probably as a result of an earlier hard drive failure. I gave them around 150 pictures and they were overhelmed, and never so happy that somebody carried a camera around for no good reason.

(and there's a lesson here too about backing up!)

i dont carry a camera everywhere i go, but i am always seing "photo opportunities" and cursing.
if i'm going anywhere special, payed or otherwise, i'm usualy accompanied by a canon.

the boss only takes her cameras when were payed for it, as a rule.

I'm beginning to become obsessed, I must take after my father.
He took his camera and lenses with him everywhere inc his 500mm.
The classic was when we were on holiday in Greece and my mum begged him to leave his gear at the hotel on the last night.
We walked down the road to the restuarant and there was the most beautiful sunset over the harbour and my mum said "quick get your camera!"
"It'll be too late by the time I get back" he retorted.
Most tense meal ever!
Alex

try to take my compact with me most places just in case but i only take my SLR out if its somewhere im going to use it properly.

used to take it to parties and tbh its a pain in the arse, especially after a few it becomes a spilt drinks magnet

Well te fact that my girlfirend siad:

'Glad we didnt go to firework display together. You would have been more cuddled up with the camera.'

Explains a lot.

having read this thinking could be on the verge. took my camera with me on saturday on a family outing (no problem there) but nearly had a breakdown when my other half suggested that i leave it in the car when we went into the supermarket to get shopping for the weekends various meals
