Hello denizens of Talk Photography!
Wandering across the 'net, searching for photographer's vests, found a post here and been browsing around for about 2 hours.
Currently using a D80/Nikkor nifty-50/Nikkor 16-85/Sigma 30mm 1.4, though they're all (apart from the 50mm) going in for px at the local LCE as soon as Nikon get the D700 stock to them. Did a bit of shooting when I was a teenager with Mum's film DSLR (and one of my best shots ever was taken on that camera, but I've lost the print somewhere along the way of life
), caught the bug, and have moved through a variety of cameras since - Kodak DC3400, Canon A70, Konica Minolta 5D, Nikon D80 to name a few.
It seems my passion is for local music gig photography, and portrait photography (though it might be argued that music gig is just portrait with something happening). Went down to Gulf Photo Plus this year to pick up some lighting instruction from David Hobby and Zack Arias; had a blast, met some cool people, got to be a foil for David's sharp tongue in the shootout at the end of the week (search Youtube for user Lightography if you want to see him manage 2 models and 6 voice-activated lightstands). Acquired a disease while there; it appears to be in the same family as Glass Acquisition Syndrome, but tends to make one look at lighting modifiers and not care about the wallet.
Website's in the profile; would love constructive criticism - technically I don't think I'm too bad (until I hit the brick wall that is the D80 sensor in low light, which is where I tend to be shooting), but a lot of the time I have issues seeing more than what I'm focussing on, so things end up poking in the frame, or out of people's heads. And all I had to do was move one foot to the left or right and re-frame. :bang:
Oh yes, I think I like B&W photography a bit too much
(That and parentheses and smilies)
