Evening all,

Whilst on our USA trip, I managed to snap some "street art" in NYC. Admittedly, the images are probably more "snap shots" rather than anything worthwhile.

Anyway, I am trying to do some editing on them - but totally unsure what to do.

Buildings, statues, landscape etc, I have an idea, but in regards to these images, I really don't know how to crop them. I would really like some ideas.

I can post up the images - totally standard, unedited if anyone cares to have a stab at them - or even say if they are worthwhile spending any time on.

Without doing that I'm not sure anyone can give any practical advice :)

True, one sec and I'll resize them to a reasonable size and upload them.

Here they are. As said in my first post, they may be considered to be nothing more than "snap shots". I don't think the other half would have been happy had I been spending ages taking photos, so was trying to do the best I could whilst still enjoying our trip.

I have a few shots of this

This is probably worth nothing

Not strictly street art, but I like the sign. Probably adjust the balances etc, and then highlight the sign

I really liked this.

One morning I went on a search for Banksy paintings.
This is the site where I painted a dog being on a fire hydrant - obviously someone painted over it

Around here was another Banksy - a load of soldiers in silhouette

And I just happened to catch this

As I say, probably not Worthing messing with. I really liked the writing on the brick wall, and also the art with the Statue of Liberty - admittedly, the others are just snaps.

I find it a bit difficult to suggest anything Mat, as you say they are very much "snap shots" with little thought to composition etc.
The 1st image I would crop out the mustard wall edge to the left and tweak the rotation a bit to the right to make the painted wall vertical ... I'm not sure I would do anything else as it is what it is and the context within the city environment is fine ... nuisance about the foliage to the right, depends on your PP ability whether you remove (clone) that or just leave it.

I see little point in the next 5 images ... sorry :(

The 'sign' shot works ok as it is in terms of composition ... it lacks and 'pop', which might be improved by tweaking the levels OR it might work a lot better as a mono conversion.

The writing on the brickwork, if you like it try to sort the distortion and try to find a way to remove the part window-cill ... it doesn't do much for me TBH.

The next is interesting in that it has the Statue of Liberty 'image', maybe crop the left side to remove the shop that doesn't add anything to the image ... again trialling a mono image may work.

Honestly can't thnk of any reason to keep the rest TBH.

Hope that helps ... obviously just my opinion :)

The last one that you really like: get some chalk, multi bold colours and get someone with nice writing to recreate on your house wall. Shoot straight on, no distortion for angle. Wash off later. [emoji3]
Some of the others serve as a moment in history so play around. Sure bits can be done. Crop the roof of the car for example leaving just the building.
