I was inspired to start this after reading about someone else's project.


Essentially, 'collect' a set of numbers photographically. I was going to start with 1-100.

Unfortunately, I forget who the original inspiration was, but there was one thing I remember about their project, one of the rules was that until they'd taken a photo of number 1, for instance, they couldn't move on to number two.

I'm not going to impose that rule on myself. But the ones i am going to try and follow are:

  • It shouldn't just be a photo for the sake of the number. In some ways the number can be incidental, and even better if I've noticed it after the fact.
  • The number I want people to see should either be the only number in the picture, or it should be immediately obvious.
  • I want to avoid as much as possible just taking pictures of door numbers, but if they're interesting then I won't discount them.
  • I'll try to be sure to include the Camera and Lens combo for each shot.

So I started looking for numbers, and I've also gone back through virtually every photo album I've created to find ones where I've included a number accidentally. I've also got duplicates of some.

Thanks - I was being a bit jokey on the York Gate one. As the location is in the pic.
 
Given the complexity involved in trying to get every number between 1 and 1000, I decided to concentrate on those that are in some way significant or interesting.

i.e. repetitive numbers 77, 66, etc or sequences. 123 or are in some other way interesting (you can be the judges of that last bit...).

So to that end, here's
