We are looking to get a nude model and take some outdoor shots. Ideally I would like to shoot in a derelict building, but would consider anything that may provide an interesting backdrop.

Does anyone know of any areas in Kent where we wouldn't get arrested lol
If anyone has access to such a location then maybe you could tag along

I guess one of the best ways to avoid getting arrest whilst doing a nude outdoor photo shoot would be to go to a nudist beach, as at least your model is then allowed to be naked!

You might like to consider the nudist beach at Leysdown on the Isle of Sheppey, as it is nicely out of the way. There are also some strange old beach hut come chalet type buildings not too far outside the naturist area, so if it was quiet and no one was about you could probably move that way without getting caught, or if you did get caught, just say you stumbled out of the naturist area by mistake. Also if you are using a female model, people are less likely to be concerned. I believe there is also a few ruined old boats near the naturist area too.

Whilst you wouldn't be very popular on a hot day (if we have any), as the beach does then get popular with naturists and anyone with a camera would be frowned upon, mid week or on a typical day, it should be pretty much deserted.

If you would like any further details pleased feel free to pm me, I am even have some old photos of the beach too.

If you don't want to get arrested then contacting the police before hand and talking with them about the shoot would be the safest bet.

They are usually very accomodating. worked on a film shoot with samurai swords and the police just sent someone to watch over, for our protection more than anything.

Discussing it with them willl give you an idea of the best places to shoot.

I did some digging about this some time ago, and as Fitzy suggested I also looked at a nude beach. We canned the idea in the end, but from what I recall it's not technically illegal to be naked in a public place unless it causes offence to someone. The other advice I could give is that you want a few people: you shooting, with your model, then a few pairs of eyes and someone with a long coat to throw over the model if they spy someone coming :p

The most useful info regarding law and possible locations I actually found on nudist websites!

Why don't you get a couple of wind breakers (the kind you would take to the beach) to surround the immediate scene, so if you had your model in a doorway for example, then the breakers would be just behind your set up. That way giving you some privacy? Just a suggestion?
