Annoyed that I openned that link. Going to p*** me off all day thinking about it.

There really is some absolute low-life scum around!

I assume the bolt has been recovered. Form an orderly queue to fire the thing at the b*****d who shot the dog.

Can't believe people do these things to animals.

Bastards is right, and I'm not even a big fan of dogs. Cannot stand animal cruelty!

Echo all the sentiments so far. I bet the culprits took the dog out there especially to fire at him as well. Absolutely awful :punch::mad:

Scum. The end!!

you are all being far too polite!!!

What is the punishment for this? Now I know that animals and humans are different, and many will not think twice about stamping on a snail, mousetraps etc... but when its close to home like a cat or dog, should it not be more in line with what you would get if you did it to a human?

Didn't open the link ... don't need to from the posts, and from a headline I picked up on the BBC website this morning ... to get the gist of what's happened.

There are no words .....

... well .... none that I can type here without getting a lifetime ban!!!

What about the person who shot the policeman back in the 60's that is being released. A few posters in that thread here seem more vocal about the punishment to be meated out to the dog killer than the policeman killer. I am not sure I follow.

Firstly, maybe you should read the article. The dog isnt dead, but has endured an unimaginable amount of pain and suffering.

Secondly, maybe you should post your comments regarding the recently released killer on the recently released killer thread where they are best suited. This thread is about a dog, and we all know that you dont like dogs.

Surely, you know very well that you will get peoples backs up with your comments, and in my book, that is trolling.

No. I'm trying to understand why people here who are baying for blood for the criminal in this thread but are take a much more lienient stance on the other.

The direction of the two threads is like night and day. My views on dogs are irrelevant. Personally the person who did this I think should be strung up, but I take that view towards anyone who commits a deliberately violent act against anything be that a person, dog, cat etc

was wondering when he'd rock up with an anti-dog view

Using my own words in the two posts in this thread can you please show where I've rocked up with an anti dog view?

because the criminal in the other thread has served what, 48 years for his crime and is now nearly 80 years old and no danger to the public?

please go back to the other thread and leave this one alone if you dont agree with whats being posted.

kthxbye.

Sick Bastards …. IF they get caught they will turn up in a white shirt and suit, (as advised by their defence lawyer), and then get b****r all of a fine or community sentence

Isn't the whole point of forums is to discuss, not just to blindly agree? I am still lost as to what I have said that means I disagree with the content of the thread but I am drawing a parallel with the police officer thread. Define public anyway, if it is soley humans he's not yet posed them any danger as it stands, although anyone capable of doing this to a dog, is capable of doing it to a person.

Jail isn't just about keeping the public safe, its also about punishment for the offender. Life should mean life. I would life imprison the dog attacker here unless there is proof the dog attacked him and this was done for their own safety. Which I doubt..BTW

FWIW, I would be prepared to bet that the guy in the other thread would have drawn very similar comments to these from the same people at the time of the event, before he was caught [if you want a modern example, Lee Rigbys killers and the reaction that drew at the time, in the immediate aftermath]. The difference is that this is current, a violent and cruel person(s) has done a dreadful thing and we can al say what we would like to do to them, but I am also pretty sure no one in his thread would actually expect such things to happen and gut reaction & immediacy is different to realistic and expected outcomes.

In other words people are full of hot air and wouldn't want what they initially called for in reflection.

I love the internet.

Hell no, some would, some are like you, ( :p ) but most of us realise that whilst we can wish such things on people in the heat of such reports, the reality is that you don't solve anything by such actions and they would make society poorer as a whole.

I actually agree with you, actions such as these, committed against animal or human, deserve a long prison sentence, though I am not sure I would go with life, but there would need to be a lot of rehab and a show of genuine remorse for such people to be considered safe for release [the mechanisms for this part are in place, though it's arguable on a case by case basis whether they are effective]. However, it's almost a moot point, because unless someone grasses them up I can easily imagine they will not get caught sadly.

I disagree. Scumbags such as dog killers, nonces rarely do anything good in scciety and their presence usally makes society poorer as a whole.

These mechanisms, IMHO are dubious. Lock 'em up, throw away the key with the law we have.

I hate reading about cruelty to animals. I've experienced it first hand when my old Border Collie got beaten half to death by two youths. He had three operations in the first week to try and save his hip and back right leg which cost me £1500+ just within that first week. He ended up having another two operations over the following months to only have his leg amputated and hip replaced. Two weeks after that he gave up his fight and the time came for me to bite the bullet and reallise my friend would be better off put to sleep. Four months of suffering for him in total and a hole in my pocket I haven't dared measure.

I found out who did it not long after the attack happened and had solid proof. I got my revenge, and it was the most amazing feeling ever...

Scumbags such as dog killers
So let me get this right..

You're calling for this dog injuring scumbag to be locked up. Although in another thread you've referred to staffies as a dangerous breed (incorrectly) and called for ott measures for ownership and in some cases be destroyed.

However you'd shoot immigrants and "junkies" in the face as I believe you put it.

You also want a guy convicted of shooting and killing another couple of guys to rot in jail.
